Barefoot gardening is no longer a hobby, at least for a lot of people.
According to a survey conducted by the Indian-American Association of Gardeners, the growing of naked vegetables and herbs is now popular in India.
“I have been doing this for many years now and people are willing to buy it,” said Suresh Kumar, founder of the garden group.
“A lot of young people have started doing it.
Some people like it more than others,” said Kumar, adding that many people are also attracted by the freshness of the produce.”
It is also more environmentally friendly because we don’t have to dump the waste.”
It is estimated that there are more than 5 million indoor and outdoor barefoot gardeners in India, according to a 2016 study by the World Bank.
